[edit] Fifth EverQuest expansion: The Legacy of Ykesha

Widely considered the weakest of all the EverQuest expansions, The Legacy of Ykesha, or LoY, did bring about a few new changes to the game.

Introduction of a new playable race, the Froglok. At the introduction of this new race the Trolls were dislocated from their home of Grobb and became refugees in the foreign quarter of the Dark Elf city of Neriak.

Expansion of the players bank from eight slots to sixteen. This single change was the primary, and in many cases sole, reason many players purchased LoY.

Creation of tradeskill created armor dyes that operated independantly of the old dye system. Previously only certain pieces and types of armor could be dyed and then only with a handful of colours. The new system allowed for easily obtained and cheap dyes that often led to various cartoonish looking characters.

New zones were included which were accessable through the previously released free zone of the Stonebrunt Mountains in Odus. This is also the last expansion to not partake in the use of instances or zones which were created on the fly by characters and/or parties of players.

Other changes included the introduction of the Charm slot as a piece of equipable armor as well as in game maps and the guild management window.
