Closing from 90K, I think you'd be in trouble. That far out, your traversal is near zero, and you come into 100% accuracy range at about 18km, even disregarding the drones.

Closing from 20km or less -- That's 20 seconds, with a little bit of surprise, yeah, I could maybe be ontop of him before he knew what was happening.
I'd be very curious to see how long you can tank with the light drones hammering you, even with my mediocre skills.

    a) Can I tank the damage from your drones? Leave them flitting around hammering me.
You might be able to tank them long enough to down me, but it will be interesting to test this, because the Vexor I'm running is passive armor tanked.

    B) Kill the drones before they kill me (I would of course Pay for them).
This would be interesting, but I think you'd fare worse going this way than straight for the kill on the mothership. We'll see, though. Drones will incapacitate at about 460 damage taken (given my skills) so I can't use them until they burn out - they drop at 75% structure damage.

    C) Start from Long range -- 50KM, give you time to get off a couple volley's from the Rails - as well as deal with the damage from the drones as I close.
This would be much worse. Entering my range, traversal is going to be near zero, so you'd almost certainly eat two or three full volleys from the long guns on approach, I think, before the drones even came into play.

    Re: Wormhole Diving

So today we go diving again.

We get in, there's a gatecamp, the Apoc standing watch opens fire immediately, clearly intending to gank anyone coming in. Red takes a few hits, he shrugs them off, we all file in behind him, The Apoc realizes he's outmatched and warps out. We smash some sleepers. Red gets a bit beat up, warps back to the gate. The camp's back, with about 6 more of his friends. Red goes pop. The only one with a probe launcher? Me.

So I start probing for another exit, the campers start probing for us. We duck, we weave, we find the second hole. Out of options (What do 3 cruisers and a frigate do against battleships?) we warp to the new hole, which is also camped. X, Tipa and Kzar go pop on approach. I make it to the hole (AB blazing and the enemy's gate is DOWN.) and get through to the wormhole. I warp into a spot in the zone and start probing frantically for an exit.

(image removed - showed about 50 different signatures to scan down!)

I scanned down 3 unknown signatures (gravimetric x2, Ladar x1) before they found me and popped me. Needless to say, guys - that's a lot of loot they were guarding. I lost an Exequoror full of sleeper salvage, and all told, the corp lost three BC/Cruisers, a frigate and a BS on top of it.

    We go pop!

(And, for those of you keeping score - the cost of my first ship loss ever was ~10mil ISK)

Just curious as to why you went with the 200mm reinforced plate. Doesn't that increase your mass drastically, which decreases agility and booster speed and increases your signature?
That's a good question -- I don't remember why I added that - I think one of that Otaku guys suggested it -- anyways, Yes it increases mass which decreases agility, and top speed by a little -- not a whole lot - but it does not impact signature I don't think.

It affects agility, but once you're fast enough, the agility penalty is mostly moot. The armor plates also do not affect signature radius according to EFT, and double the armor on the frigate. He can't shield tank it without losing his tackling ability.

Also, Mel, EFT suggests you may be able to squeeze in 3 150mm cannons instead of 125s. Not sure if that might be preferable or not - why'd you take the 125s - run out of CPU/PG?

Yup I could put 150's on it -- I've just had 125's on there since I started, They track better; Now 150's would probably be just a hair more DPS but only if my skills are good enough to make up the difference in tracking. and maybe If she gets blowed up I'll rebuild with 150's. Until then, there's not a whole lot of difference.
