That it looks like someone poured liquid latex on him? Or the fact the head on his shoulder would have the teeth sunk into his arm halfway through every swing?Originally Posted by Ringo Flinthammer

Rombus - PS: Zedd, you can think what you want but I'll let you put sand in my V any time you want.
I don't get a plasticy wibe of the armor at all to be honest. Compared to what EQ2 was back in the day of release, that looks fuggin good.
As to shoulder pieces, well ...... I've seen worse shoulder pieces.....

I like the staff that the caster has in the far right on the second picture.
Is that a hydralisk? See, Brad is stealing from Blizzard after all!![]()
Maybe because it all appears to be a single color and is virtually the same color as his weapon?Originally Posted by Ringo Flinthammer
The gamespot article has a release date of May 1st 2006 listed. I wonder where that came from.
You'd think they'd learn to stop releasing publicity shots who's main feature seems to be demonstrating the 30,000 shades of brown the engine is capable of
That would be before E3 (and all that free publicity), so I would be surprised if it was true.Originally Posted by Destructis

I can't get over how EQ2 and VG use the same color pallete for indoors. It’s like WoW's art was inspired by Monet, and EQ2/Vanguard's art by Tolouse-Lautrec.
Although the indoor stuff is brown-toned, it seems natural to me. Stuff is more grey-toned in my closet, then under a light. That being said, it still appears that you can make out objects in the cave areas, which is a relief to me. I hate when games artificially 'fog' things in dark areas to make them hard to see.
We'll just have to wait and see how it looks / plays when it's released.

You should also remember that, when looking at a game's graphics, you don't get a sense of the animation that really enlivens a character. Before WoW released, the graphics were widely criticized as cartoonish and silly looking. Yet, when the game released these criticisms largely evaporated and gave way to compliments about how well the characters are animated. WoW characters really do seem alive when they move, and this overcomes their low poly count and otherwise cartoonish look. Likewise, the frozen VG characters may indeed look really alive later.
Beyond that, the game's graphics are clearly seeing a lot of revamp so we should expect characters to be improved soon.
