Born Isabel Fleitas in Havana, Cuba, Sissi graduated from Antonio Guiteras High School, in Havana's El Vedado sector. She traveled first to Mexico, where she worked as a model, but could not earn money as a model there because she had no legal citizenship in Mexico.
