Someone said there was a Chromatic Focus aug out there. Would ManaFlare use that focus effect? Anyone know? We obviously know it crits.
Trying to wrap my brain around "chromatic focus" and not quite getting it this early in the AM. I can't see how chromatic could apply to anything but resists; your best focus for that resist (or ID5 etc.) would always apply.Originally Posted by Asadd
EDIT: figured it out, I think. . .I guess a nuke with chromatic resists couldn't be focused by anything we have now, so we would need the chromatic focus for such a nuke. Who has one of those besides clerics unless mana flare would be affected?

Clerics and enchanters are the only ones who currently gain any benefit from a chromatic focus. Procs such as mana flare ignore focus. Chromatic nukes are really just another type of elemental cast that uses the chromatic check as opposed to a fure/cold/magic/poison/disease one, so chromatic focus only affects nukes with that resist type. There is a substantial difference between a focus which affects all resist types (Improved Damage line) and a focus exclusively on one resist type (Chromatic).
