Good, with still a lot to offer.
And more than any other game out there imo right now.
Can't play the same game forever. It's reaching near the end of its life cycle for me.
I don't even want to consider how much I've spent on this game since beta.
I agree with behomara. I had a blast before I hit my 50's, but something changed that..
I'm having more fun now in EverQuest than I ever had. Loving it so much, I gave up my twink addiction.
There was no "i already quit but made a new wiz and already releveled him" option =(
Istari Iv aways posted polls here when I feel they could use input from a larger base, and from the feel of current topics. =) But thanks, I did not really understand after only four years of time here at Graffe's where a poll went. :p Anyway this is only part one of a two part poll that will get back to the Back Burner poll I made about a year ago, just trying to understand where most of people who come here fit into with how the game is doing.Quote:

When I stop having fun playing my Wizard I will likely quit the game. My shaman quit being fun long ago. My bard more recently. I am still learning necro evilness lvl 28 but the Person that inspired me to make a Necro has stopped playing "it stopped being fun" :-(
If your not having any fun, You dont fit into the "good" category.
Simple.
I am still having fun with it, it has its good and bad days - I guess that is because I been playing since beta :) I plan on being here a few more years at least :)
I quit after 4 years of playing about 3 months ago. I don’t know if its because they finally broke the game with GoD, or if it was just time to move on.
I think Gates broke it for me as well, but I still play once in a while, my wife quit playingQuote:

PoP was a cool idea but the level cap screwed up the rest of the game and then each expansion after it has drastically changed the way we play and is gradually sapping out my will to play.
OoW will have to be something special to get me to buy it.
I feel that there is plenty still to do for me in EQ, if not as a wizard then as some other class.
I doubt that I will quit player for years to come.
You just need some realistic goals and good friends for the game to stay interesting.
I too feel that Gates broke it.
I also dislike many current players obsession with 'numbers'. I prefer the enjoyment of simple Adventure, not who-has-what or how-much-dps. Add in the imbecilic attitude that because my gear is not Top Shelf, then I must be worthless.
There are still many aspects of the game I enjoy, but it has been substantially dampened since the release of GoD.
Gates was the first expansion I didnt buy too. Not really sure why I stopped then.
I will come back for OoW though. Lvl 70 is too hard to resist :p
I still play, but it is becoming tiring. I quit the raid guild I was part of since I didn't want to commit the increase in the ennormous amount of time required of us. Oh hum... I'm bored now without being in a guild so I bought CoH to play for a while until OoW is released. I pre-ordered both OoW and EQ2... so hopefully I'll be back in the spirits soon
Administrator, and doesn't know how the polls section works?Quote:

Not sure why people have to be an ass about it, but yes, being an admin means he can post polls here if they think they're interesting for the general readership of the board. Many (most?) people don't bother reading the polls forum because it's mostly full of irrelevant crap.Quote:

Having the word "Admin" under his name means he works his ass off for the boards, and doesn't need to put up with idiots like you who foam at the mouth because your cyber penis is that much smaller because he can post a poll here and you can't. He can just ban you. But he won't, although he would be more than justified in doing so.Quote:

kind of at the end of its life cyclle for me unless something really new and exciting shows up.
I have come and gone from this game a few times since release. Other games come along and take my full attention, but they lose favor quickly, and sooner or later I find myself back in eq.
There is still something about this game that makes it enjoyable to play, in a laid back, relaxed mood. Its something of a medatative state for me I guess. Then again, when I am not raiding, I am grouping with close friends. Friends I have had for over 10 years IRL, some even longer. The same guys I would play console and stand alone PC games with after school when we were kids. Friends I grew up with, and keep in contact through one of our common hobbies, gaming. :)
I'm bored with it, but my account is still active. I've gone through periods of boredom before, and they've passed, so this one might, too. In the meantime I've been playing SWG, and watching over my fiancee's shoulder as she plays EQ.
Month to month basis. If it wasn't for my guild, and giving me something to do while my bf plays, EQ would've been dead for me a month after GoD's release.
Fortunately for Sony, they still get my money because I absolutely adore my guild and refuse to leave them ~
someone hijacked my account, I dont care ..... apparntly I'm playing alot these days :P
It's so-so for me. While i really enjoy the end-game raiding, it's the dull xp grinding that makes me want to log off.
With raids i enjoy being part of a team that tries to take on the hard stuff, the new stuff, things you've no idea what they will do when you first engage. XP grinding just bores me. I've done all the LDON i care to do, done the Barindu, Vxed, Tipt, etc. trials with both wizard and warrior, i'm just not interested in randomly poking the same monsters over and over.
New single group instances would get me to xp again, provided they made sense, had some form of story to them, and were interesting and non-repetitive. Nothing drives me nuts more than killing the same thing over and over and over and over.
You mean they get his money ;)Quote:

quit
I have the KT flag, almost there with the elemental flags, and have some decent AAs now. So a bit more to see and do with EQ.

I run a few spotters for my guild and alliance raids and regularly propose targets. I do a lot of single group, 2 group and raid content and have a blast doing it. I find getting groups so easy that I don't solo much at all. I did solo a lot getting up to my mid-fifties but just find it worth my time at the moment.

1) I voted "Good" But I have gone to some extreme methods to ferrot out everything that this game possibly has to offer. I multibox so I am never LFG. I've taken advantage of the move between server deal so that I can find guilds that match my needs in terms of atmosphere, progression, and playstyle. I go out of my way to be creative in terms of what I do with my EQ time. I puposely invite people to the groups I created so that there is some social aspect. Like so many things in life what you get out of EQ is directly related to what you put in.
2) A poll like this belongs in general, imo. This is a good thing to ask from time to time in such a way and in a place that gets highest visibility.
3) Like Eleyen, I tend not to look at how much I've spent on EQ. It's better that way :grinyes:
Ran out of time to do content I found fun and or interesting in may. Was not at loss for groups for xp . Just cranking out aa points I really didn't need in the elementals was tedious. That and all the Euro guilds that once inhabited my server vanished. Coupled with drastic playtime changes and no desire to upgrade my comp after DX 9. It was easy to just camp for the last time on the shore in tranquility.
DPS parses ruined the game. :(
Ranks so high i just cancelled my account. Goodbye
With some real life things and the recent focus news from SOE, I am switching my vote froom good to I already quit, and just come here to visit now.
Its been more than a week from the last time I loged in but thats only because most of my friends dont play anymore /sigh anyway I still keep my account active and I log in and go play by my self

:D/nods I have to chime in and agree. I don't think I've encountered more obnoxious people than those who parse what's happening in an exp group setting and then start chastising people based on that information.Quote:

Do you feel EQ is on A Back Burner-
My guild is the only reason my account isn't cancelled. Love those guys, but I find EQ to be increasingly exasperating.
There are so many gaming challenges in EQ for those inclined to want to "climb that mountain" so to speak.
I know for a fact that I could easily spend another couple months just every couple days coming up w/ something new to try.
For most though their guild is the cement that holds them here. Those friendships. I guess that's why I get so adamant in arguing for things to help guilds stop the bleeding or help prevent the disbandings that occur.
Yep.. I feel the same. And being guild leader it's not easy to walk awayQuote:

The game was never more fun than it was with them, ah my days as the psychotic warrior girl.)
My guild, as it has been casual since its inception sometime in 99 and just last week wrapped up our tour of NTOV and are moving towards pop progression. We arent a lazy or stupid guild by any means, A good portion of our officers dissapear for months at a time as they work for the same company, and their field requires extreme crunch time occationally. This haulted our ability to progress in the game and as such is the reason I think I'm still able to have fun in the game. I can definatley see how those who have been there and done that are just absolutley tired of the game. God knows I've already gotten tired of the game several times.
But yes, it is the people that keep bringing me back as well. There isn't one person in my guild that I would hesitate for a second in allowing them a place to stay in my house. Infact, guildies used to regularly come over for drunken eq lan party weekends. :) BYoB(bring your own box) Woo!
and for parses ruining the game. What I find to be more of a downer is something I've only realized recently. People arent really charecters anymore, they're avatars. It seems like theres almost a total shift in the majority of a players mentality from the type of players youd get a couple years ago. It attracts a different kind of player nowadays? *shrug*
